Global Sales Director - Apparel & Footwear

Mission
In this role, you will strategically shape and drive the distribution of our Apparel & Footwear product pillars, ensuring sustainable business growth. You will be responsible for building and strengthening the international distribution of SCOTT & DOLOMITE Apparel & Footwear across all channels, working closely with our global partners.
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Global Sales Director to lead our international and regional sales teams while aligning the Global Sales Strategy with SCOTT’s & DOLOMITE’s Product & Brand Strategy. You will collaborate with key internal stakeholders in product development, marketing, merchandising, and demand planning to expand our market share.
The ideal candidate has a strong sales track record in the sporting goods industry, with a deep understanding of global markets. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent leadership skills, who can inspire and motivate sales teams, agencies, and distributors to achieve ambitious targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Align with the brand vision and develop, communicate, and execute a multi-year growth strategy for all key accounts, in close collaboration with product and marketing teams.
- Lead, develop, and implement sales strategies to drive revenue growth, margin improvement, and profitability based on KPIs.
- Build, lead, support, and mentor the Apparel & Footwear Sales team, helping them achieve personal and professional growth as part of the HQ Commercial Leadership Team.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key Apparel & Footwear accounts, from specialty stores to international buying groups.
- Utilize data-driven decision-making to optimize product assortment and merchandising through reporting dashboards.
- Prepare and deliver sales presentations, reports, and forecasts to SCOTT’s executive leadership team.
- Lead internal and external account discussions and negotiations, including contracts and agreements with clients and partners.
- Ensure the delivery of exceptional customer service while ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies.
Your Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in international sales management (including retail, wholesale, and DTC channels) in the sporting goods industry, with a proven track record and strong network. Experience in the apparel and footwear industry is highly preferred.
- 5+ years of leadership experience in buying, merchandising, planning, or sales, preferably supporting key accounts.
- Experience in working with premium national or global accounts, with a proven ability to build and manage strategic relationships.
- Deep understanding of global apparel & footwear market trends and insights into consumer behavior in the sports & fashion industry.
- Advanced Excel skills, with the ability to accurately forecast using retail math methods and apply an analytical approach to problem-solving.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; experience with SAP is a plus.
- Experience with CRM systems and sales performance metrics.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to develop and execute sales strategies effectively.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
- Willingness to travel internationally as required.
