Product Developer and Pattern Maker Softgoods
As a Product Developer at Scott, you will work in close contact with Product Management and Design to create new apparel for the brand Scott. The Developer is responsible of the development process from the sketch through the proto sampling to the final product.
As a pattern maker at Scott, you will apply your profound knowledge of pattern making, block pattern development and grading. You will develop new patterns for advanced performance apparel across all categories such as cycling, running, mountain and winter sports, based on our brand fit guidelines to ensure a strong and consistent brand fit.
The 2D CAD & 3D software ensure efficiencies and a state-of-the art development process. As part of a growing team of fit experts you will support the development team in the fitting process.
Tasks:
- Responsible for all aspects of development tasks (e.g. material specifications, colors, sizing, fittings, measurements, packaging, quality standards)
- Create tech packs with accurate technical details & BOM for suppliers
- Evaluate all samples in terms of fit, workmanship, trims and materials
- Execute regular product fittings with Design & Product Management
- Follow-up of timely delivery of samples according to development schedule
- Ensure that all materials as well as prototypes are tested and adhere to SCOTT quality and safety standards
- Utilize 2D Patternmaking CAD Assyst
- Create Patterns based on sketches, photos or reference samples
- Executing pattern from 1st prototype through bulk production
- Managing consistency in measurements and fit through all categories
We expect:
- Degree in Textile/Garment Engineering
- In-depth knowledge in performance textiles
- Minimum 3-5 years of work experience in sports apparel industry
- Understanding of patterns and the ability to translate it into different fits
- Experienced on CAD Assyst
- Knowledge of all aspects related to the production of apparel with strong emphasis on workmanship of functional garment construction and fitting
- Experience in product development would be beneficial
- English business fluent & very good knowledge of German or French with an extensive technical vocabulary
- Good negotiation and conflict management skills and strong problem-solving skills
- Experienced working with a PDM system, good skills in Microsoft-Office & Adobe Illustrator
