Wheel Engineer

You will be integrated into our Syncros Components and Accessories engineering team to develop carbon and alloy wheels for our different bike models, from concept definition to stable mass production. 

 

Therefore, you will have the responsibility to: 

  • Define the technical specifications in collaboration with the Product Managers. 

  • Search for new concepts / solutions in close collaboration with other teams. Present, refine, and execute these solutions effectively. 

  • Validate the function and dimensioning of the concepts/solutions. 

  • Responsible for the industrial 3D file in close relation with designers and factories. 

  • Responsible for 2D drawings of all parts and assemblies 

  • Validate tooling, material choice and process. 

  • Follow up the tests to reach the performance and product safety / life-time targets. 

  • Visit the suppliers to validate the process. 

  • Assist our Product Managers, Designers and factories to ensure the feasibility of the products according to specifications 

  • Assist our marketing team with preparing and presenting workshops and shows. 

  • Manage assigned projects, respecting timelines, and coordinating project team members 

  • Validate all technical aspects of the products with the Product Managers and different suppliers. 

  • Keep close relationship with cross-functional team Supply Chain Management, Quality management, engineering services, testing and manufacturing partners. 

 

We expect: 

  • Master's degree in mechanical engineering (University or School of technology) 

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in bicycle industry with expertise in lightweight design, aerodynamic optimization, simulation, complex mechanisms, composite and alloy components. Ideally with a direct experience in the design and engineering of bicycle wheels. 

  • Advanced user knowledge of 3D software (Creo is a plus) and associated PLM systems 

  • Ability to work in an engineering team, with proven collaboration and communication skills. 

  • Demonstrated project management expertise, including planning, coordinating, monitoring, and delivering crossfunctionalfunctional projects. 

  • Creativity and an appreciation of good design. 

  • User knowledge of FEA software (Simulate / Ansys is a plus). 

  • Knowledge of bicycle mechanics, including wheel building. 

  • Knowledge of manufacturing techniques in the bike industry 
    Knowledge of composite and metallic materials 

  • Fluent in English. French, German or Chinese is an advantage. 

  • Willingness to travel internationally. 

  • Avid Biker.
